Trek Overview
Embark on the sacred Panch Kedar Yatra, a spiritual 11-day trek through the Garhwal Himalayas covering the five holy shrines of Lord Shiva — Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madmaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. Experience breathtaking views, alpine meadows, and serene Himalayan villages while diving deep into mythological legends and spiritual bliss.
Panch Kedar Yatra is one of the most revered spiritual treks in Uttarakhand, taking you across the five sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva — Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madmaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. Nestled in the pristine Garhwal Himalayas, this 11-day journey beautifully blends mythology, devotion, and adventure.
According to legend, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's blessings to atone for their sins. Shiva, disguised as a bull, vanished into the ground, and his body parts appeared at five different places in Garhwal, which became the Panch Kedar temples.
- Kedarnath: Known for its majestic temple and snow-clad peaks, the hump of Lord Shiva appeared here.
- Tungnath: The highest Shiva temple in the world where his arms surfaced.
- Rudranath: A serene meadow temple where Shiva's face emerged.
- Madmaheshwar: Surrounded by lush valleys, this temple marks where his navel appeared.
- Kalpeshwar: The cave temple where Shiva's hair is worshipped.
Throughout the trek, you will traverse dense forests, alpine meadows, river valleys, and quaint Himalayan villages, experiencing the raw beauty of Uttarakhand. The trek offers not just a spiritual retreat but also panoramic views of peaks like Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, and Neelkanth.
