Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Drive Rishikesh → Joshimath
Start your journey from Rishikesh and drive to Joshimath, a picturesque gateway town in the Garhwal Himalayas. The route takes you along the Alaknanda River, passing the holy confluences at Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. Enjoy your lunch enroute at Srinagar, followed by a scenic drive through lush valleys and quaint villages. Arrive at Joshimath by evening, check into your stay, and relax over tea and dinner.
Day 2: Drive Joshimath → Vishnuprayag | Trek Painka Village → Souldhar
After breakfast, take a short drive to Vishnuprayag, where the trek begins. Drive further to Painka Village and start your walk through forest trails, gushing streams, and small clearings. Enjoy your packed lunch enroute before reaching the campsite at Souldhar — named after the natural sulphur springs found nearby. Evening tea followed by a warm dinner under the stars.
Day 3: Trek Souldhar → Jehri Khark
Today’s trek takes you deeper into alpine territory. The trail passes through lush bugyals (meadows) and offers glimpses of Hathi Parvat. We halt mid-way for a freshly prepared hot lunch before continuing to Jehri Khark — a wide meadow that serves as a perfect camping ground.
Day 4: Trek Jehri Khark → Bhainsatal
Begin the day with breakfast and start ascending towards Bhainsatal, a high-altitude meadow surrounded by ridges and snow patches (depending on the season). This location serves as the base before the final push to Kaagbhusandi Lake.
Day 5: Trek Bhainsatal → Kaagbhusandi Lake → Return Rajkhark
Today is the most awaited day. Start early to ascend to Kaagbhusandi Lake, a sacred emerald-green water body cradled in the high Himalayas. Spend time soaking in the mythological and natural beauty before enjoying your packed lunch at the lakeside. Return via the same trail to Rajkhark for the night.
Day 6: Return Trek Rajkhark → Pulna → Joshimath
Descend through meadows and forest sections to reach Pulna village. From here, a short drive takes you to Joshimath. Enjoy a hot shower and a hearty dinner.
Day 7: Drive Joshimath → Rishikesh
After breakfast, bid farewell to the mountains and drive back to Rishikesh. Stop for Happy Meal enroute before arriving by evening. Trek ends with unforgettable memories of Kaagbhusandi Lake.
