The best time to visit Gun Hill is from March to June and September to November, when the weather is pleasant, skies are clear, and visibility of the Himalayan peaks is at its best.
By Ropeway: A cable car (ropeway) operates from Jhula Ghar on Mall Road to the top of Gun Hill. The ride is short, scenic, and perfect for all age groups. On Foot: Visitors can also take a 15–20 minute uphill walk from Mall Road to reach the summit. The path is well-paved and moderately steep. By Road: Mussoorie is well connected by road to Dehradun (34 km). Once in Mussoorie, Gun Hill can be accessed only by ropeway or foot.
