The golf course is around 5 km from Ranikhet town and is easily accessible by taxi or local vehicle. Nearest railway station is Kathgodam (approx. 75 km), and the nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport (approx. 115 km). Regular taxis and buses are available from Kathgodam and Almora.

The Ranikhet (Upat) Golf Course is a stunning high‑altitude 9‑hole golf course located about 5–6 km from the main town of Ranikhet, near Upat Kalika and Ghingari Khal. It is perched amidst oak and pine forests, at an altitude of approximately 1,869 m (6,132 ft) above sea level
The Golf Course in Ranikhet, located in the serene Upat area, was developed during the British colonial period in the early 20th century. It was originally built for British officers stationed in the region, taking advantage of Ranikhet’s cool climate and scenic terrain. After Independence, the Indian Army took over its maintenance. Today, it is managed by the Kumaon Regiment and remains one of the highest golf courses in Asia at an altitude of over 1,860 meters.
