The Chandi Devi Temple is a revered Hindu shrine situated atop Neel Parvat in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Dedicated to Goddess Chandi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga, it holds significant spiritual importance and is considered one of the Siddha Peethas—sacred places where devotees' wishes are believed to be fulfilled.
Chandi Devi Temple is one of the most sacred temples in Haridwar and is considered a Siddh Peetha, where wishes are believed to be granted. The temple offers both spiritual peace and stunning views of the Ganga River and Haridwar city.
Chandi Devi Temple is believed to have been established in the 8th century by the great philosopher and saint Adi Shankaracharya, while the current structure was built in 1929 by King Suchat Singh of Kashmir. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Chandi appeared on this hilltop (Neel Parvat) to kill the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, who had conquered heaven. After defeating them, she rested here, making it a sacred site. It is now regarded as one of the Siddh Peethas, where divine blessings are believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees.
